Unites for Marriage — The Bradshaws

Same-sex marriage would strengthen Utah, new ad campaign says

LGBT advocacy » The TV ads, launching this week, will emphasize marriage as a legal and civil right.
William and Marge Bradshaw have five children and 18 grandchildren.
They’ve been together ever since they met on a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
In a television ad campaign set to launch this week, the couple tell viewers that their son — a gay man — deserves that kind of life.
In the ads, sponsored by the same-sex marriage advocacy group Utah Unites for Marriage, the Bradshaws share their story, and their family, in hopes of convincing others that allowing gay and lesbian couples to marry would strengthen, not harm, the state.
"A marriage is a bond between two people based in love and commitment," William Bradshaw says. "Allowing civil marriages will be a good thing for Utah."

(NO LDS Excommunication:
 "Silence  is Consent")

Will all those who claim to know Jesus be surprised when He denies knowing you?
America boasts a Christian population of around 80%, and there are over 400 thousand evangelical pastors leading churches, big and small, across the United States. Despite such demographics, we are bearing witness to one of the most insidious waves of apostasy this country has ever seen. Open rebellion and treachery against the Lord abounds in our daily lives, from tolerance, acceptance and even our embracement of evil deeds and behavior.
As a nation, we have turned our backs on Jesus and God almighty, using the pretext of tolerance as we embrace the lies our hearts have conceived. Despite such actions, we claim to be Christians…When a nation forgets God, judgment follows.
When man claims to know Jesus but fears not the Lord, there is no refuge from His judgment.

Dictionary:
Silence gives consent.
If you do not object to what someone says or does, you can be assumed to agree with or condone it.

Gay (fag) Mormon shares his journey
back to faith, awaits conference
SALT LAKE TRIBUNE - May 27, 2014 - …In most ways, Tom Christofferson’s spiritual journey was not unlike that of many gay Mormons.
Christofferson grew up in a close-knit LDS family, attended Brigham Young University, served a Mormon mission to Canada, and then married a woman. (The marriage didn’t last more than a few months.)
His family, which includes a brother, LDS apostle D. Todd Christofferson, continued to love him without reservation, Tom Christofferson said last month in a speech in Arizona.
"Quite soon after I came out, [my parents] took an opportunity to express to my brothers and their wives their determination that nothing would be allowed to break the circle of love that binds all of us together as a family. As they expressed it, while none of us is perfect as individuals, we can be perfect in our unconditional love for each other."
Christofferson also is a board member of the support group Affirmation — LGBT Mormons, Families and Friends.

Harry Reid not a worthy Mormon?
LDS Church, Dems cry foul
SALT LAKE TRIBUNE - Nov 07 2014
In the aftermath of this week’s elections, an LDS bishop in Los Angeles set off political fireworks by asserting in a blog that Mormon Sen. Harry Reid was not worthy to enter one of the faith’s temples for his support of Democratic Party stances…"Members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints are, of course, entitled to express their own political opinions," spokesman Dale Jones said in a statement. "However, publishing such views while using a title of a church officer, even if only as a leader of a local congregation as in this case, is entirely inappropriate." LDS bishop Mark Paredes conceded Friday that, in retrospect, he could have worded his concerns about Reid, a fellow believer, "more artfully."
Writing on his long-standing blog at the Jewish Journal, Paredes began by describing one of the "temple recommend" questions (meant to gauge adherence to Mormon beliefs and practices) that asks members if they "support, affiliate with or agree with any group or individual whose teachings or practices are contrary to or oppose those accepted by the [LDS Church]." He then detailed his beliefs that Democrats’ support for same-sex marriage, gambling and abortion rights was in opposition to the church’s positions on those issues.

Seattle Mormon leaders to gays:
You are valued — worship with us
SALT LAKE TRIBUNE - Oct 17, 2014
In an extraordinary move, the Washington Park LDS Ward in Seattle is opening its arms to Mormon gays and lesbians in the area.
These LDS congregational leaders recently sent a letter to "less-active members within the ward boundaries" inviting them to a church sacrament meeting Sunday, Oct. 19.
The letter acknowledged that participating in worship in the Utah-based Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints…The letter further assured lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender members that their experiences were valuable to the Mormon community
Mitch Mayne — an openly gay Mormon who helped train local leaders alongside his former bishop, Don Fletcher, in how to welcome LGBT members in San Francisco — is pleased with the Seattle effort and its participants.
He told The Salt Lake Tribune the message of the meeting is as important for straight Mormons as it is for the LGBT community.

Derek Kitchen’s name will live on in law books — along with his partner’s — as three plaintiff couples who brought down Utah’s Amendment 3 and propped up same-sex unions across the nation.
